Ifemide’s story

A long road to treatment.
A family hoping for help.

Ifemide is a talented, joyful boy who loves playing football and the talking drum. He is in SS3 and preparing to write his WAEC examinations in April 2027. His family wants him to have the chance to return to the things he loves and the future he has been working towards.

Over the past month, 15-year-old Ifemide has faced weakness, recurring fever, weight loss and repeated hospital visits. Tests and a bone marrow biopsy led to a diagnosis of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

He has already received hospital care and transfusions. His treatment plan includes chemotherapy, ongoing blood and platelet transfusions when needed, and regular assessments to monitor his response.

In the three months leading up to his diagnosis, his family spent millions of naira on hospital visits, tests and care. The treatment and continued hospital care now bring further substantial costs. They are asking for help so Ifemide can continue receiving the care recommended by his doctors.

Support goes directly to Ifemide’s family.
